The Batman by Retoucher07030 The Batman by Retoucher07030
Finished! Didn't take me nearly as long as Ironman. Guess that means I'm getting better at it, lol. This is the Batman Begins suit. Maybe I'll give the new suit a try when the DVD releases. Enjoy!

BTW...I know the belt color is a bit more "copper" than the actual belt. I was messing with the color and just liked the way it looked against the black. Executive decision!

All done in photoshop, photo used for reference only.

Um, wow. Just, wow. If I hadn't been browsing through the "digital painting" folder, I would have thought this was a photo. Wow. :D

P.S. I like the copper belt too. ;)

Enable prints? I think DA won't let you for anything posted in the Fan Art category. If it's fan art, that means it's copyrighted by someone else and I guess they could get sued for selling prints without rights.

Hmmmm....well I'm taking a few days off before I start any new projects. I haven't decided on the next piece. I'm thinking about: 1- Darkness from the movie Legend which I've wanted to do for a while 2 - Spiderman in the black costume 3 - One of the Star Wars characters, I'm leaning towards Yoda but Vader or Boba Fett could also be fun 4 - The jets from the movie Stealth. The movie sucked but the jets were super cool!

I also have an original project I'm dying to get off the ground but I'm having a really hard time trying to draw it out. I'd need to spend a bunch of money on props for reference which I just don't have so I'm just struggling with it. I'll figure it out eventually, I hope!

Sorry, I've been away for a few days, my niece is visiting and that's a full time job! The project I'm trying to get started is concept art for a reality based future warrior / urban combat system. It's all based on real world technology that's available now or in development. It involves suits and robots and UAV's. I know exactly what I want, I'm just having a hard time figuring out how to draw it or paint it or whatever.

Oh jeez, how can I explain it. I start it out as if I'm doing a vector art piece. After I have the paths and shapes down, I do all of the shading with gradients and painting areas to darken and lighten. In the end, it requires a ton masking and blending. I'll have to do a tutorial on the basics of the technique soon!

Forgot to mention...there's a really good tutorial in the last issue of Photoshop Creative magazine (issue 34) about airbrushing portraits. Pretty similar to the the way I shade my stuff :)
