I've pretty much sworn off multiplayer games because of the widespread hacking. They are all compromised, doesn't matter if you're on a PC or console and the problem is 1,000 times worse than anyone wants to admit. So I stick to single player campaigns now, which I intended to do with Bad Company 2. But I was bored and made the mistake of playing BC 2 multiplayer. OMFG.
This has to be the most hacked game in Xbox Live history. It makes MW 2 looks like a Sunday school picnic. It's so blatant and totally out of control. I'm saying most of the people playing are hacking, not just some. Truly unbelievable. In 48 hours of play I've watched people disappear right in front of me, tanks disappear and reappear in a different locations while under fire, players who constantly spawn in behind other players in non-spawn locations and the standard endless parade of aimbots, wall hacks, charms, ESP hacks, speed hacks, health hacks, etc...
But last night I witnessed the most unbelievable hack ever. I still can't believe it. I'm hiding in a bush near the edge of a small cliff. I was there for a bit so nobody knew I was there. Then this guy literally just appears directly in front of me. Like magic... poof, he's a wizard. About a foot away with his back to me. I waited a second to see if anyone else was there and then I tried to knife him. Before the knife could hit him (about a half second) he disappeared. Again.... poof. Then as the knife is passing through air where he was, I see him reappear on a road directly below me, now facing me with gun raised and shooting... as he appeared. It was instantaneous. It happened so fast I was dead before the knife animation finished. I sat there with my jaw hanging open then turned off the game and went to bed. Tomorrow the game goes back to Game Stop. If I had the energy I'd fight EA for a full refund, but I don't. BTW... This clown's XBL gamer tag is About19Snipers. If you have have misfortune of ending up in any on-line matches with him, file a complaint against him.
This is the reason why so many people want nothing to do with multiplayer. The hackers are ready to cheat the day a game releases. The gaming industry along with Microsoft and Sony seem powerless to stop them so they instead downplay the problem and deny that it's serious.
For anyone who's interested, here's the evidence that BC 2 is hacked to hell. All of this is easily found with a Google search, something EA, Activision and Microsoft seem incapable of doing. Here's two sites selling the hacks:

I've pretty much stopped playing myself. I LOVED Modern Warfare 2 online, but finally had my fill the other day.
Get this, one guy, I don't know how he did it but he had 42 kills and 0 kills. A minute more and my team would have won despite all the call ins the guy did like AC130, choppers etc. We held the control points DESPITE being constantly pummeled. I was actually very proud of my team. But like I said, we were like a minute away from wining when all of a sudden we get nuked.
I understand some people got skill, but 42 kills and 0 deaths? Sorry, but I've seen it way too often.
Same with BC2, I loved the first on the xbox, so I picked up the second one for the PC. But nope, I can tell people are using aimbots deluxe on there.
Screw it. I'm pretty much just going to screw playing online. I've just bought a few WWII games, EBGames had a decent sale here, picked up Silent Hunters for cheap.
And there's not a chance in hell 42 - 0 in any multiplayer game is legit. If it was XBL, I'd have just filed my complaints for cheating, system tampering and feedback tampering and left the match. BTW - If you are playing on PC, you can check or join the Punk Buster user site: [link] Punk Buster is the software most developers are using prevent or catch hackers. They actually list the user tags of people who are caught hacking, which is awesome!
But what really cracks me up about multiplayer fans is the majority refuse to admit hacking is a problem. They're rather believe it's skill or "map knowledge". Yeah.... right. So when a low level player nails you with a head shot across the entire map, while you're in cover, using iron sites while he's sprinting... it's simply "crazy map knowledge"
But before, I'd ONLY game on PunkBuster enabled servers.
But the online version of CoD:MW2 has a lot of "low players". By that I mean they don't have any skills and just rely on cheats/camping/glitchers/using low classes like knifers/tubing etc.
Worst thing I know is a guy using that unlimited sprint and uav jammer running around knifing people in close quarters. There's basically NO WAY to take him down. Then you got the campers who'll find one spot and just stick with it. Worst of all is tubers. Man they piss me off. They'll use the M16 with grenade launcher and then the grenade launcher and that's ALL they'll use. Be it in CQB, spawn killing whatever.
I've just had my fill of ass holes online. I play legit and normally. Why can't others do the same?
BTW - Here's a story about hackers and karma
Yeah, some people just REFUSE to show any sort of skill online and thus, resort to playing low or cheating.
no sense of responsibility
inability to form meaningful relationships
inability to control impulses
lack of moral sense
chronically antisocial behavior
no change in behavior after punishment
emotional immaturity
lack of guilt
self-centeredness
Hackers are also bed-wetters and have teeny, tiny peckers! Well... I can't actually prove the pecker theory but everything else is fact
