GameCube & MW2 Controversy

Journal Entry: Thu Oct 29, 2009, 11:49 AM

Anybody own a GameCube? Now I'm thinking about getting one. Yesterday I noticed Gamestop is selling refurbished cubes for $30. I always wanted to play Animal Crossing, heard it was a great game. Plus there are Zelda and StarFox games I've never played. Maybe it'd be a nice (and cheap) way to take breaks from all the 360 hardcore BS.

And... there's already a giant controversy about a leaked video from MW2. The video has since been pulled... everywhere. It looked like the opening mission required you to play a terrorist walking through an airport just shooting civilians. It's super violent and gory. Activision responded and they claim the scene has a warning and you can choose to skip it. To be honest, I'm not sure I believe them. But even if it's skippable, I think agencies like Homeland Security, The NTSB and their counterparts in other counties are still going to go ape shit that the scene is in the game. And you know what, I'd have to agree with them. Pretty irresponsible by both IW and Activision for deciding to leave it in the game.  We'll all find out how bad it really is in 2 weeks!

Haha Kotaku, I should pay more attention to that place. Most my time is spent on Lifehacker. :D

Anyways, if you got 30 bucks to blow, go get one. I had one for a couple of years, pretty fun console. I especially liked the Resident Evil remake! Made me jump more then once...

You'll enjoy the Gamecube I'm sure, all Nintendo consoles are great fun. :)

I read Kotaku everyday, great site. They cover everything gaming related and the news is up to the minute.

I started reading Lifehacker earlier this year but they do way too much shilling for Microsoft. Any news about a Apple product is always anti-Apple, pro Microsoft or pro Windows. They are the Fox News of tech websites  No attempt to make the reporting seem objectionable while they claim to be "fair and balanced". Hmm... where have I heard this before? I like my world and tech news propaganda free, so no thanks! I'll stick with CNet and my dream girl Natali Delconte [link]

Rofl @ Fox news for tech :D

Well, if it makes you feel any better, Gizmodo/Engadget are Apple fan boys. ;)

Yeah, Delconte is one hawty. So many fine geeky chicks out there!

But if you do get a GC, pick up a copy of the original Resident Evil remake, it's great!

That's funny, I've never looked at Giz. or Eng. for anything other than tech toys. Not that I can afford to buy them, but I like looking.

I have Gizmodo, Engadget and Lifehacker (amongst others) open in tabs when I start firefox. :) Those are some of the first websites I visit when I open my browser.

Then comes dA, various forums etc.

My daily site browsing is (in this order):

Deviantart.com
Facebook.com
Kotaku.com
Gamasutra.com
Digg.com
Mediabistro.com
[link]
iHeartChaos.com (some NSFW content)
Egotastic.com (usually NSFW content)
CNN.com
ESPN.com

I use to read [link] and Gawker.com a lot, but not so much anymore. And yes I know... I have way too much free time! Nothing I can do about it for now :(

I don't pay much attention to celeb news. But I like your other links. May have to add them to my tabs. ;)

Even though it has some naughty content, I really love iHeartChaos. It's a bizarre mix of general interest, geeky news and viral videos. Strange and awesome mix!
