Unfair Advantage?

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 12, 2010, 2:41 PM

Can anybody name a competitive sport or competitive game / activity (excluding video games) where one player or team is intentionally given large, unfair advantages? There's no right or wrong answer. I'm reading a design book and it indirectly raised this topic.

Minichess. At least some versions, where white almost always wins, due to having a high strategical advantage as opposed to the black player.

Wow, I didn't know the game existed  What's the logic, if any, behind giving one side an unfair advantage?
